Reunion Independence Opening Gala

The Windsor Park Stadium was packed to the rafters this evening as Dominicans celebrated the opening of the 2008 Independence Celebrations. This grand extravaganza kicks off six weeks of activities and events celebrating Dominica’s 30th Anniversary.

An estimated 12-15,000 people filled the stadium to witness a multitude of spectacular performances  including:

• 355 students from Convent Prep forming a human flag.
• The largest-ever made Dominica Flag spanning 40 feet by 60 feet.
• Tarina, Lloydie & King Dice with the Reunion theme song ‘Celebrating the Journey Together’
• Hunter performing “One Flag, One People, One Nation”
• Lapo Kabwit, Ban Mouve, Sensays and Bwa-Bwas.
• Daddy Chess singing ‘Forward We Go!” in the Grand Finale.
