This historic moment was marked by the arrival of LIAT Flight 461 from Antigua, which carried on board the President of Dominica Mr. Nicholas Liverpool,  Government Cabinet Members,  industry officials and stakeholders, and members of the media.

The event was marked by speeches and performances and concluded with a display of fireworks. Tarina Simon’s rendition of the National Anthem was particularly moving.

The advent of night landing at Melvillle Hall Airport is another positive step in Dominica’s development. It will help provide greater flight opportunities for those travelling to and from Dominica.

Winair also landed their inaugural flight on this night, arriving from St. Martin. Other airlines are expected to take advantage of Dominica’s new night landing capabilities in the near future.

  1. Congratulations to those who have worked so hard to achieve this. With the loss of a cruiseship this month, this is very welcome news to the people of Dominica. This is taking Dominica one step closer to the next level.

  2. Congratulations! This is a great acheivement.
